Top Argument
i do not think it shows incompetency as a person might have a genuine reason for gap like preparing for IIT,etc. Rather it shows the person is hardworking, patient and personality ready to face challenges

Though this does not make him incompetent as a techie , a careful examination is needed on this exact three year gap.Check whether he is covering up a failure in graduation or some other course.

Sir, I myself had a break in studies in my college.. but it is not the end.... world is big.. There are lot of things to prove in this society... One cannot be Judgedfrom his appearence or his educational synopsis... After having two years break in engineering i rejoined college & got graduation.. For ur information I got a placement in one of the leading comopaqnies too

i agree with this point. we cannot jugde gap w.r.t incompetency... 3 years gap may mean anything.. may be a person is seriously ill and couldnt continue his study in order to recover full.. Many students are top brilliant but would suffer of poor finance condition... This can be treated as a situational aspect rather than terming it as incompetence.
